Hadar Metal Design

For my birthday this year, my wife surprised me by putting us on a train to NYC for the day and bringing me to the Josh Hadar exhibit, The Evolution of Steel. Needless to say, I was stoked. I was stoked about the exhibit but more stoked that the woman I chose to spend my life with happens to be the coolest person I've ever met.

Below are some pictures I snapped with my phone. I can't get this thing to take clear pictures anymore. Every shot is a little blurry but you get the idea. The artist found an old bicycle in the garbage and decided to try welding it up. He got hooked on it and evolved from building crude monstrosities to elegant, well designed motorized (some gas some electric) two wheeled works of art.

Check out his organic versus mechanic designs - the hand blown glass gas tank made to look like a heart encased in a metal rib cage.

For more information (and much better photos) on this guy's stuff, check out Hadar Metal Design.
