I posted some pics of an open house at a local indy shop and it straight up disappeared. Well, at some point today or tomorrow I will get those pics back up. Until then...

JJ's Open House May 2011

More to come. This was the first open house of the season at JJ's Cycle in Watervliet. The weather was perfect and bikes rolled in from every direction. They literally ran out of room in the lot for them and people were parking all down the street. Loud music. Loud Pipes. Good times.

Who loves chasing wires? I do. Not really. Well, I like it a lot better when the wire colors are correct. So far, I managed to get the starter wires all ironed out. Next up is the head and tail lights. Then it's the turn signals and the horn.

This is my uncle's '82 FXR. The first year of the rubber mounts. The tins our off to the paint shop. I'll keep you updated as things progress.

I really do enjoy bring old, neglected iron back to life. And i will be very stoked to present my uncle with the keys when it's all done.

Oh, and by the way, Seafoam...that stuff really works! I bought some on a whim and dropped a cap full in both tanks. Man, once it warmed up, my bike was giving me the nicest "potato, potato, potato" I've heard in quite some time.

Aaaaand...

This is the weather we had the very next day after the fun Sunday ride. Seriously.

Great Weekend

My fiancee and I had a whirlwind weekend that involved visiting friends in Worcester(Woostah), Massachusetts for a bridal shower, and then driving back to Schenectady the next day to visit some friends and relatives for dinner followed by card games. We woke up to a beautiful morning on Sunday. We had stuff to do but decided to fire up the bike and go for a ride. She was freezing and so was I (although I wouldn't admit it). We stopped at a place that sells leathers, goggles, helmets and basically anything you could need and suited up for the 60+ mph windchill that we were subjecting ourselves too. After that, we just cruised eventually ending up in Albany for some Mexican. Below are the only photos I managed to snap. I wish I could get that phone of mine to focus better.
